WSPID Launches 2025–2035 Strategic Plan at WSPID2025: A New Era of Global Impact
At the Opening Ceremony of the 13th World Society for Pediatric Infectious Diseases (WSPID) Congress in Bangkok, WSPID proudly launched its Strategic Plan 2025–2035, and with it, a new logo and refreshed brand identity, heralding a new era for the global pediatric infectious diseases community.
The plan, developed through months of consultation with WSPID members, committees, and regional societies, sets out a clear roadmap for the next decade, centered on five strategic pillars: Sharing Knowledge, Collaboration, Voice, Research, and Transparency & Accountability.
Guided by its mission to improve the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of infectious diseases affecting children and youth, especially in low- and middle-income countries, the new strategy positions WSPID as a unifying force that connects clinicians, researchers, and advocates across all regions of the world.
By 2035, WSPID envisions a world where child and youth health is prioritized in global health strategies, infectious disease research capacity is strengthened in every region, and equitable access to vaccines, treatments, and diagnostics is a shared reality.
“This plan is not just a document, it’s a shared vision for the future,” said Prof. Asha Bowen, WSPID President (2023–2025). “Together, we are charting a course toward a stronger, more connected global community dedicated to protecting the health of every child and young person.”
“Our WSPID values of Collaboration, Advocacy, Knowledge and Equity will guide the implementation of our Strategy, as we commenced the 4th decade as an organization, established in 1995.”
With renewed focus on global partnerships, evidence-based education, and advocacy for vulnerable populations, the WSPID Strategic Plan 2025–2035 marks the start of an inspiring new chapter, one that calls every member, partner, and professional in pediatric infectious diseases to be part of lasting change.
