In memory of Dr Salvacion Gatchalian

She was currently the current president of the Pediatric Infectious Disease Society of the Philippines (PIDSP) and a valued member of WSPID’s Education Committee.

On behalf of WSPID, we send our sincere and heartfelt condolences to Dr Gatchalian’s family, friends and colleagues – our thoughts and prayers are with you in these difficult times. The global #PedsID community has lost not only a friend and colleague but a champion of child health in her role as a pediatric infectious disease specialist in the Philippines, Asia and at a global level.

During these unprecedented times we are thinking of all our doctors, nurses and other colleagues at the frontline, putting their own lives at risk while doing an incredible job of treating both adults and children during the COVID19 outbreak. We cannot thank them enough for all their hard work and sacrifice.
