At the 2nd Global Forum on Childhood Pneumonia, governments, partners, and civil society came together again determined to protect all children from the leading infectious threat to their survival - pneumonia.
The Declaration, which WSPID supports, outlines the new commitments announced at the Forum that will accelerate declines in child pneumonia deaths, strengthen primary health care, and advance progress towards achievement of the child survival Sustainable Development Goal (SDG).
WSPID looks forward to working with the forum partners and the wider PID community to strengthen prevention and treatment efforts to reduce childhood pneumonia in low resource settings.
These courses are for individuals wanting to gain an understanding of the principles that underpin paediatric infection, the ways in which those principles have developed, and to translate this understanding into good clinical and research practice.
The AWaRe book provides concise, evidence-based guidance on how to use the antibiotics included on WHO’s Model Lists of Essential Medicines and is an important step towards improving clinical care, the optimal use of antibiotics in humans and the development of AMR policy.
In addition to the book, there is a mobile app and a version of the book accompanied by summary infographics for each infection for both adults and children that provide a quick-reference guide for health care workers at the point of care.
