Welcome Message - WSPID President

Welcome Message - WSPID President

Dear Friends & Colleagues,

As President of the World Society for Pediatric Infectious Disease (WSPID), it gives me great pleasure to welcome you to WSPID’s newly redesigned website which strives to be more user friendly and informative.

The website has been set-up in such a way to readily communicate with the pediatric infectious disease community, to facilitate the sharing of news & resources and promote WSPID’s activities and those of our membership.  Please let us know if you have any questions or suggestions – we welcome your input.  We look forward to this being a useful tool for all of you.

In the 23rd year of our founding, we continue to be inspired by the passion and commitment we see in the pediatric infectious disease community  - our member societies, clinicians, researchers, policymakers, funders and advocates, all working on behalf of children and their families to find solutions for some of the world’s most challenging pediatric health issues.

The Board are the custodians, guiding WSPID as we move forward, ensuring it continues to be a scientifically strong, transparent and relevant society.

As we embark on the year ahead, WSPID will focus on creating and promoting further educational initiatives, in addition to our already long-standing commitment to knowledge transfer through WSPID’s biennial conference.  We have created an Education Committee who has been tasked with producing and vetting a curriculum that focuses on professional learning and education to the benefit of our members and the pediatric infectious disease community at large.    WSPID’s educational content will be made available on our website.

We are already busy planning for the 10th World Congress on Pediatric Infectious Diseases, taking place in Shenzhen, China, from 2 to 5 December, 2017.    We hope you will join us for what promises to be an exciting forum of sharing the latest knowledge and receiving updates on the treatment and prevention of pediatric infectious diseases.

A fully comprehensive scientific program featuring internationally renowned experts, sponsored and plenary symposia, free papers, poster sessions, and networking opportunities will be accessible to all.

Your active participation will be the basis of this congress’ success and we hope to see you in Shenzhen!
In the meantime, do stay in touch with us - via Facebook, Twitter or drop us an email
